Job summary

Georgia State Government's Department of Juvenile Justice in Gainesville, GA seeks a Juvenile Program Manager to oversee probation and rehabilitation efforts across assigned caseloads. This role focuses on supervising staff, guiding rehabilitation plans, and ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions.

You will supervise, coordinate treatment services, administer assessments, and document progress while maintaining strict timelines and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field and five (5) years of job-related experience in a social/human services setting, including one (1) year in a lead/supervisory role.
• Seven (7) years of direct case management experience in a social/human services setting, including one (1) year in a lead/supervisory role.
• Two (2) years of experience at the Juv. Probation/Parole Spec 3 level or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain Georgia POST certification within the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to evaluate progress and compliance with probation terms.
• Recommend remedial action or initiate court action for non-compliance with probation/parole terms.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests to verify compliance with treatment programs.
• Prepare and maintain case folders for each offender.
• Discuss substances and behavior factors influencing criminal activity with offenders.
• Conduct pre-hearing investigations and testify regarding offender backgrounds and sentencing considerations.
• Inform offenders of conditional release requirements.
• Write reports describing offender progress and evaluations.
• Investigate relevant legal issues as needed.
• Arrange medical, mental health, or substance abuse treatment services as required by court orders.
• Supervise community-based sentences and conduct field visits.
