Job summary

Office of Juvenile Justice - Jetson Center for Youth in Baker, LA seeks a seasoned Juvenile Justice Specialist 6 to lead a secure-care unit. The role focuses on directing staff, enforcing treatment-focused practices, and upholding agency standards to promote rehabilitation and youth safety.

You will supervise JJS-5 staff, respond to emergencies, and coordinate daily operations while ensuring adherence to policies and required trainings. This is a full-time, mission-driven leadership position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in a residential, correctional, behavioral health, or group home setting with responsibility for rehabilitation, clinical care, custody, or security; OR.
• Three years of experience in Probation and Parole.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to Juvenile Justice Specialist 5 staff and functional supervision to other disciplines assigned to youth treatment units.
• Respond to emergencies including behavioral crises, medical incidents, staff issues, natural disasters, and weather-related events; maintain 24/7 on-call availability in leadership.
• Facilitate and participate in weekly team, wrap-up, and group meetings to support communication and treatment planning.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies and participate in required trainings, including CPTP supervisory training.
• Support supervisors by guiding staff and reinforcing safety, structure, and youth treatment.
