Qualifications

• One year of investigatory experience as a commissioned officer plus one of the following: two years in law enforcement, investigatory work or military intelligence, OR twelve hours in law enforcement or a criminal justice field.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Holder of a current Louisiana driver''s license.
• Willingness to attain POST certification.
• Disqualification for felony conviction or pending felony indictments; no recent hit-and-run or DUI within three years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations into criminal violations, staff misconduct, youth abuse allegations, and policy breaches.
• Review evidence including video footage, documents, and physical items following proper protocols.
• Interview involved parties; conduct interrogations and make arrests when directed.
• Prepare investigative reports and document findings in required databases and systems.
• Monitor communications to identify escapes or criminal activity.
• Apply investigative techniques to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
• Interpret and implement policy; assist with developing procedures for Investigative Services.
• Serve as a resource for leadership, auditors, attorneys, and stakeholders; provide updates on case status.
• Maintain investigative records, case files, and audit documentation.
• Support major incidents with emergencies, coordinating with external agencies.
