NYC Administration for Children’s Services seeks a Community Coordinator to safeguard children and assist families within juvenile justice and child welfare programs. The role involves fieldwork, liaison work, and detailed reporting to support court and social services teams.

We value knowledge of foster care, robust communication, and solid organizational skills. A bachelor’s degree with experience or an equivalent mix is preferred, with coverage duties across boroughs as needed.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree with two years of related community work experience or equivalent
• High school diploma with six years of related experience or an equivalent combination
• Any combination meeting 1 and 2 above, with at least one year of the required experience

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify court-involved youth to determine eligibility for Juvenile Justice Initiative program and services.
• Fieldwork interviewing youth in detention centers and families at home to assess eligibility.
• Act as liaison among detention, probation, court, prosecutors, and youth’s attorney.
• Develop written reports for judges, attorneys, and social service providers.
