Job summary

Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS seeks a community case manager to support families of youth involved with the juvenile justice system. The role focuses on strengths-based engagement, home and community visits, and collaboration with court personnel and service providers.

You will assess needs, create plans to reduce risk, and facilitate evidence-based programs addressing anger control, family functioning, and pro-social skills, ensuring youth reintegration success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of the juvenile justice system.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Valid Driver’s License; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strengths-based case management for youth in the juvenile justice system.
• Engage families and help navigate juvenile justice and social services.
• Develop plans to reduce youths’ risk of future law violations.
• Visit families at home, school, and community programs.
• Enter information into state information systems and prepare reports for court meetings/hearings.
