Job summary

Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City is seeking a Juvenile Intake & Assessment Center team member to process referrals by conducting intake reports, fingerprinting, photographing, and data entry. You will assess youths, transport when needed, and provide family referrals within a county-wide network of law enforcement and social services.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with related experience; state-mandated trainings and certifications (First Aid/CPR, restraint)

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 2 years college in human services or related field, or 2 years' youth/family experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Pass criminal history/background check and Child Abuse/Neglect Registry.
• First Aid/CPR certification and physical restraint certification required.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License; must be at least 21.

Responsibilities

• Complete intake reports and data entry for referred youths.
• Process juveniles (birth-17) including fingerprinting and photographing.
• Assess youths using state-mandated screening instruments.
• Transport youth to emergency shelter when needed.
• Provide referrals for social/intervention services for youth and family.
• Prepare all required reports within prescribed timeframes.
• Maintain contact with law enforcement, courts, detention centers, and social agencies.
