Job summary

Center for Victims in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Counselor Advocate, JJS to provide crisis counseling, advocacy, and education for victims and witnesses within the Juvenile Justice System. The role includes court accompaniment, systems liaison, and facilitating access to services.

The Counselor Advocate will deliver crisis intervention, information, and referrals, while supporting clients through medical, legal, and probation processes. Strong communication and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in social services related field.
  • Experience in social services or victim services is a plus.
  • Strong crisis response and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling to victims and witnesses via multiple settings.
  • Educate clients on the Juvenile Justice System and Victim Rights.
  • Liaise between clients and criminal/juvenile justice systems and service providers.
  • Assist with court accompaniment and advocacy across systems.
  • Maintain organized CV offices and ensure confidentiality of client files.
