Job summary

Johnson County Department of Corrections in Olathe, Kansas is seeking a Juvenile Intake Officer to support the intake and assessment process for youth. This role operates on a 24/7 schedule with evening and night shifts; some weekends required, and applicants will perform psychosocial interviews, gather histories, and coordinate with law enforcement and guardians.

Candidates must be 21+, HS diploma or equivalent, with two years of human services coursework or youth experience; criminal history

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: 21 years of age or older, high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of college coursework in human services or two years of youth/family experience.
• Must pass criminal history check and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Complete intake with the alleged juvenile offender and coordinate with law enforcement, families, and agencies.
• Gather demographic and criminal history information; conduct psychosocial interviews and document in ATHENA.
• Make referrals and coordinate housing or supervision options with providers.
