Job summary

Sjcindiana in South Bend, IN is seeking a Home Detention Case Manager for the Juvenile Community Corrections program, a grant-funded position overseeing home detention and electronic monitoring and developing family-centered treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required; preference for internship/practicum in psychology, social work, criminal justice, sociology, or case management.
• Minimum of one year experience working with families preferred.
• Knowledge of family systems theories and interventions required.
• Knowledge of electronic monitoring equipment preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
• Applicant must pass a criminal background check and any screening/testing for detection of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Developing case plans with families and children to assist them in attaining goals and completing the program.
• Conducting community accountability visits (CAV).
• Documenting all face-to-face and collateral contacts with children, parents and relevant others.
• Collecting school, mental health and other pertinent documentation.
• Teaching cognitive-behavioral and other groups.
• Assisting with Community Service projects.
• Monitoring progress and completion of probation and case plan requirements.
• Coordinating treatment of juveniles with community partners.
• Completing Risk/Needs Assessment with accuracy.
• Testifying in court concerning the needs of children and families.
• Monitoring payment of court ordered financial obligations.
• Day-to-day operations of the Home Detention Program with oversight from supervisor/director.
• Releasing juveniles from secure detention to home detention with notices.
• Scheduling participants in home detention software and daily monitoring.
• Enforcing Home Detention contract rules and responding to violations.
• Making regular home visits during/after business hours.
• Making school and employment visits as scheduled.
• Performing drug screens as needed.
• Coordinating with local law enforcement during/after hours.
• Consulting with probation/detention officers at all times, including non-business hours.
• Monitoring on-call cellular phone from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
• Preparing and submitting Weekly Progress, Weekly Productivity, Financial and Annual Reports.
• Carrying out any additional duties as assigned.
