Job summary

The Department of Juvenile Justice in Florida is seeking a Food Support Worker to prepare and serve meals at Collier Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Naples.

You will follow menus, supervise kitchen operations, maintain sanitation records, and work from a rotating shift schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Applicants must pass drug and background screens; veterans’ preference applies.

Qualifications

• Food safety and sanitation knowledge required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform heavy lifting.
• Basic mathematical skills for measuring ingredients and portions.

Responsibilities

• Store, prepare and serve food to youth and staff in a secure facility.
• Work at all assigned stations in the food service area and follow recipes.
• Prepare and cook foods per pull sheets and diets.
• Follow set menu or special diet orders and adjust portions accordingly.
• Set up and break down the food service line; maintain hygiene and sanitation.
• Complete documentation for Child Nutrition Programs and temperature logs.
• Assist in inventory of food, supplies and equipment as needed.
