Allied Universal is seeking a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer – Entry Control in Columbia, SC. This full-time role involves managing access, monitoring entry points, and delivering professional customer service at a government location.

The position pays $17.00 per hour and follows a day schedule with specified shifts. Candidates must meet minimum requirements and pass background checks and a drug screen; a driver’s license is required for driving roles.

Qualifications

• Tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations required per DPSS/DHS COLA.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Armed vs unarmed age requirement: 18 for unarmed; 21 for armed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures and site policies at a government location.
• Monitor entry/exit points, verify identifications and authorization, deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents calmly and escalate concerns as per post orders.
• Document visitor, staff, and contractor activity; maintain logs and communicate with site contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols; report unusual activity or hazards.
