Job summary

Florida Department of Juvenile Justice is hiring a Food Support Worker to handle storage, preparation and serving of meals for youth and staff in a secure facility. You will work across all stations, follow recipes, and ensure diets are correctly prepared. Shift schedules include evenings and weekends with overtime possible.

Drug and background screening are required. Experience in food service and ability to lift and stand for long periods are essential.

Qualifications

• One year of food service experience or vocational/technical training in food service.
• Be at least 19 years of age.
• Experience preparing meals for a large number of customers or clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook foods according to recipes and pull sheets.
• Set up and break down food service line as assigned.
• Follow menu or special diet orders as directed by the Food Service Director.
• Complete daily temperature logs and production records.
