Job summary

The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is seeking a Corrections Juvenile Food Production Worker to prepare, cook, and serve meals in Bridge City Center for Youth, while supervising youth assigned to food service duties.

Qualifications

• One year of food service experience or training in an institutional, hospital, military, or commercial food service operation.
• Twelve semester hours in food and nutrition, dietetics, or institutional management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with facility menus and dietary guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining, and storage areas.
• Supervise youth assigned to food service duties, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Operate kitchen equipment and follow institutional food safety protocols.
• Assist with inventory, storage, and portion control.
• Uphold confidentiality, mandatory reporting, and trauma‑informed care standards.
• Participate in PREA training and other required onboarding programs.
