Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Michigan RN license to practice in the state.
• BLS/CPR Certification.
• One year of full-time paid RN experience in medical/surgical, corrections, or behavioral health (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions or side effects.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
• Assist with orientation and training of new hires as requested by leadership.
• Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a unit.
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
• Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies and maintain stock.
• Refer patients to specialized health resources or community agencies.
• Consult with institutions or associations regarding nursing practice concerns.
• Complete other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
