As a Juvenile Detention Officer - Access Control in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. This is a driving post. In this role, you will help to deter security-related incidents while reflecting our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity every day.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Sunday 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by following site‑specific access control procedures, screening protocols, and security‑related policies at a government location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and report irregular access activity to site leadership and/or the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner while supporting emergency response activities and established post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential policy violations.
• Communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and public contacts regarding restricted areas, check‑in requirements, and other security‑related rules while documenting incidents and daily activities as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
