Allied Universal is seeking a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Entrance Authorization in Columbia, SC. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, conduct patrols, and respond to incidents with professional customer service in a dynamic government setting.

Position is full time with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour. Driving is required; shifts include Tue 05:45 AM–06:00 PM, Fri 05:45 PM–06:00 AM, and Sun 05:45 PM–06:00 AM.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of job location.
• TB test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors and authorized individuals while following site-specific procedures.
• Monitor entry/exit points, verify IDs, maintain visitor logs and control access to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly and document actions taken.
• Carry out regular patrols of interior and exterior areas and report unusual conditions.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain visitor activity records and shift logs.

You will manage entry points, verify credentials, maintain accurate visitor and badge records, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized individuals while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and control access to restricted areas in accordance with facility procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including perimeter access points, while reporting unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required records related to visitor activity, access-control concerns, incidents, and shift operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Must meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
