Job summary

Rite of Passage Team in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking a Direct Supervision Juvenile Detention Officer to ensure safety and care for youths aged 12-18 at the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center. The role focuses on monitoring, mentoring and supporting education and activities.

The position offers 4 days on/3 off shifts with 12-hour schedules and benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, plus a 6% 401(k) match after one year.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test.
• Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

• Direct Supervision Juvenile Corrections Officer provides in person safety and security around-the-clock; you will assist with the physical, personal and health needs of youth through mentoring and skill development.
• Monitor and document behaviors and activities; participate in educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other staff to meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.
