Job summary

Denton County is seeking a Juvenile Supervision Officer to provide professional correction work and direct supervision of juveniles placed in detention or court‑ordered programs. You will maintain case files, transport youths between facilities, coordinate with counselors, and ensure safety and policy compliance across assignments.

A High School diploma or GED is required, with certification within six months of hire. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision of detained or referred youth.
Maintain individual case files and update records.
Enter and retrieve information using data entry software.
Coordinate transports to detention facilities, medical facilities, or schools.
Confers with counselors and other professionals about youths' needs and progress.
Ensure juveniles are searched properly and allowed calls to relatives or attorneys.
Communicate rules and disciplinary actions to juveniles.
Escort juveniles to court and ensure safe transport.
Attend to crisis situations and provide 24‑hour call‑in readiness.
Complete standard reports based on observations and sources.
Conduct trainings for staff on procedures related to juvenile detention.
