Clayton County Juvenile Court is seeking a Juvenile Court Officer II to supervise and assist youths under court jurisdiction, conduct social history investigations, and prepare court reports and recommendations. CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Juvenile Court Officer II
Supervises and assists any child under the court’s jurisdiction. Investigates, reports, and makes recommendations to the court over deprived children or a child who is alleged to have committed a delinquent, unruly, and/or traffic offense. Work is performed under the general supervision of either the Intake Supervisor or the Probation Supervisor.

Assists in other areas of the courts. Mediates cases. Performs other related duties as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or closely related field; supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the juvenile justice system required. Must have completed a probationary period of one (1) year with the Clayton County Juvenile Court; must display managerial abilities; have above average reports of performance; have completed personnel development classes; must be self‑motivated and able to work with little or no supervision. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as odors, temperature and noise extremes, traffic hazards, violence, or disease.
