Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a dedicated Correctional Lieutenant to supervise institutional operations, assist group counseling, and ensure safety and compliance across a 40-hour work week in Columbia, KY.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice or related fields.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Overtime may be required per agency needs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise institutional operations and a shift in absence of a Shift Captain.
• Monitor DJJ juveniles and handle disciplinary issues; co-lead group counseling.
• Maintain shift logs and assist juveniles with complaint procedures.
• Provide guidance to Correctional Officers and transport juveniles as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; participate in recreation/work projects.
