Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Juvenile Corrections Access Control Officer in Ridgeville, SC. You will manage entry points, verify IDs, monitor activity, and provide excellent customer service to staff, youth, and visitors at a government juvenile services location.

This role offers flexible daytime shifts, training, and opportunities to work with smart security technology. A valid driver’s license, background check, and 6 months security experience are required; 18+ years old with 21+

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; background check required.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of the job.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Able to use a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth, and authorized personnel while carrying out access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals according to facility procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, notifying appropriate personnel as directed.
• Control access to restricted areas, receive and document deliveries, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity.
• Conduct regular patrols of entry points, surrounding areas, and perimeter locations.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth, and authorized personnel while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals according to established facility procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate facility personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Control access to restricted areas, receive and document deliveries, and report unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, and policy violations to designated personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry points, surrounding areas, and perimeter locations, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
• Meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
