Allied Universal is seeking a Juvenile Correctional Facility Officer - Check In in Columbia, SC. The role supports access control for a government juvenile-services location, verifies credentials, and assists visitors and staff while maintaining security protocols.

As a part-time Security Officer, you will build a flexible schedule and gain exposure to our Claim a Shift platform, with opportunities to learn our technology and customer service in a security-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license in the job location.
• At least six months of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 (unarmed) or 21+ (armed).
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, residents, and authorized personnel while following site procedures and emergency response when needed.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, screen visitors and deliveries, and keep access logs.
• Control entry/exit of people, vehicles, and property per government juvenile-services protocols.
• Respond to incidents calmly and communicate relevant information to the right personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access areas, buildings, and perimeters.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, residents, and authorized personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, screen visitors and deliveries in accordance with facility procedures, and maintain accurate access-related logs.
• Control entry and exit of authorized individuals, vehicles, and property while following established protocols for a government juvenile-services location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access areas, buildings, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• At least six months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
