Job summary

The State of Georgia's Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Behavioral Health Counselor for Macon YDC in Macon, GA. Under supervision, you will deliver workforce readiness instruction as part of a structured program and support behavioral health services.

Responsibilities include administering tests, developing behavior plans, evaluating client conditions, maintaining confidentiality, and documenting progress and reports, while training staff in behavior modification techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in in counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university or certification as an addiction counselor from the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists with administration and scoring of tests
• Develop and implement behavior management plans as required by regulatory agencies
• Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on review of client information
• Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client's treatment
• Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan
• Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
• Provides training to direct staff in implementing behavior modification techniques
• Trains to collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests
