Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in in counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university or certification as an addiction counselor from the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) or equivalent certification.
• Preferred Qualifications may be added by the agency.

Responsibilities

• Assists with administration and scoring of tests
• Develop and implement behavior management plans as required by regulatory agencies
• Evaluate clients’ physical or mental condition based on review of client information
• Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client’s treatment
• Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan
• Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
• Provides training to direct staff in implementing behavior modification techniques
• Trains to collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests
