Job summary

The Outreach Team is hiring for community canvassers and team leaders in Metro Detroit, MI. Roles are full-time or part-time, paying $24–$26 per hour with bonuses. Shifts run 7:30 AM–2:30 PM or 10:30 AM–5:30 PM, with overtime pay and referral bonuses.

Ideal candidates will engage voters through door-to-door outreach and contribute to campaign messaging. We seek individuals passionate about progressive values, with strong communication skills and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy.
• Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone.
• Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible.
• Open to new challenges and are interested in building their campaign skills.
• Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community.
• Prior canvassing experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Deliver a compelling campaign message, and collect complete survey answers from voters.
• Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills.
• Follow the campaign's safety protocols.
• Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day, and debriefing with them at the end of the day.
• Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be successful.
• Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work.

Community Canvassers and Team Leaders
Hiring Immediately - $24-26/hr + bonuses

Help us turn out voters in Michigan to get out the vote and win! Grassroots efforts are ramping up and we are looking for a team of canvassers to help us reach voters who deserve a voice in this election. From now through Election Day, our team is connecting directly with voters on the ground through door-to-door outreach. We will be supporting candidates who champion progressive values and our shared vision for the future, encouraging people to get out and vote for progressive leaders down the ticket.

Up to 20% of voters will vote for the top of the ticket (president, senate, governor) but won’t vote all the way down the ballot. We need to make sure voters know to flip their ballot over to the non-partisan section of it so they can vote for the State Supreme Court Justices!

This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise.

Get paid well! Canvassing positions start at $24/hour. Team Lead positions start at $26/hour. We offer overtime pay, driver bonuses, shift bonuses, paid training, sick pay, and bonuses for friend referrals.

Locations:Metro Detroit, MI

We are hiring immediately, all positions run through November 3 with possibilities for advancement afterwards. Shifts run from 7:30 AM - 2:30PM, 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM weekdays and weekends with the possibility to work part-time or full-time.
