Job summary

The Outreach Team is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time canvass roles to register voters and promote progressive values in critical elections. You will engage community members in high-traffic areas and walk them through the registration process.

Paid training at $20/hr for first 3 days; starting rates at $21/hour; leadership at $23/hour; overtime and bonuses; total weekly potential $1500+ when bonuses achieved. Shifts 10:45 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Tue–Sun; part-time or full-time options.

Qualifications

Full-time & Part-time

Voter registration is a crucial first step in increasing voter turnout and allowing voters to impact critical elections. We will be registering new voters who agree with our progressive values, and want to see Trump removed from office. We’ll stop people in heavily trafficked areas and walk them through the process to register to vote. By engaging community members and motivating new voters, we are working to ensure that the electorate accurately reflects the diversity and interests of all!

This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise.

Get paid well! Canvass positions start at $21/hour with paid training at $20/hr for the first 3 days. Leadership positions start at $23/hour. We also offer overtime, and many bonus opportunities. Total weekly earning potential is $1500+ when you meet all requirements for bonuses.

We are hiring immediately; all positions run through September 28th, with possibilities for advancement afterwards. Shifts run from 10:45 a.m.–6:30 p.m., Tuesday–Sunday, with the possibility to work part-time or full-time

• Paid training at $20/hr for the first 3 days
• Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
• Deliver a compelling campaign message, and collect complete survey answers from voters
• Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
• Follow the campaign's safety protocols
• The Canvasser Responsibilities plus:
• Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day, and debriefing with them at the end of the day
• Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be successful
• Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work

The ideal candidate:

• Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
• Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone
• Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
• Open to new challenges and are interested in building their campaign skills
• Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
• Prior canvassing experience is preferred, but not required
