Job summary

FM is seeking a Boiler Inspector (Jurisdictional Consultant) to conduct in-service inspections of boilers and pressure vessels across the Greater Boston area. Location within the territory is preferred, with responsibilities in evaluating compliance to NBIC and FMIC requirements.

The role will be staffed at Jurisdictional Consultant I/II levels, with on-the-job FM training, and supervision by the Operations Chief Inspector.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent; associate degree from a 2-year technical school; or high school diploma (or equivalent).
• National Board In-Service Commission qualification requirements; NB or FMIC exposure preferred.
• Passing National Board Exam and state requirements; NB Commission with at least one jurisdiction within 12 months.
• Experience in boiler and pressure vessel construction, operation, and inspection; nondestructive methods knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct jurisdictional inspections of boilers and pressure vessels in the Greater Boston area.
• Learn, evaluate, and confer with Clients under NBIC, FMIC, and Code requirements.
• Receive FM training and perform inspections with supervision to mitigate hazards.
• Travel approximately 30% to client sites.
