Summary of Position:

We are looking for a Junior WordPress Developer to help maintain, troubleshoot, and improve our existing WordPress websites. This position focuses primarily on website maintenance, bug fixes, and ongoing client requests, with opportunities to contribute to new development projects.

The ideal candidate has strong HTML and CSS fundamentals, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow alongside experienced developers.

We use modern development tools, including AI, but value developers who understand the fundamentals and can independently troubleshoot their work.

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update existing WordPress websites.
• Troubleshoot bugs, layout issues, and plugin-related problems.
• Implement content, design, and functionality updates.
• Assist with WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates.
• Identify and resolve responsive design, performance, and accessibility issues.
• Test changes across browsers and devices.
• Work with existing codebases while following established development standards.
• Assist with new website development as skills progress.

Position Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience working in either a corporate or agency environment
• Strong understanding of HTML and CSS without the need for frameworks such as Bootstrap or Skeleton.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and basic PHP.
• Familiarity with WordPress themes, templates, and plugins.
• Understanding of CSS such as responsive design, Flexbox, and CSS Grid.
• Ability to troubleshoot using browser developer tools.
• Basic familiarity with Figma.
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn, communicate, and work collaboratively.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields Plugin and Gravity Forms Plugin.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Basic understanding of website performance, accessibility, and SEO.
• Experience with Sass, Tailwind CSS, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with website hosting, staging environments, and deployments.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.Understanding of DNS

Interview Process:

We'd like to see examples of your work, including personal projects, client work, portfolios, or GitHub repositories.

During the interview, we'll discuss your technical fundamentals, troubleshooting approach, and previous work. Candidates may be asked to complete a small take-home assignment, followed by a walkthrough where you'll explain your approach and how you solved the problem.

AI-assisted tools are welcome, but you should be able to understand and explain your own code.

$50,000 - $60,000 a year

Compensation:

• This target compensation range is subject to multiple factors, including role, level, experience, and location. As you go through the interview process, your recruiter will work with you to identify a competitive base salary within the proposed target compensation range that will get your excited about your future with us.
