Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Austin, TX is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to learn EWIS and grow into avionics hardware development and integration. You will work in small teams through design, manufacturing, and testing of wiring interconnect systems for launch vehicles and spacecraft.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering or related technical field.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work well in a team, be proactive, and execute with minimal guidance.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently.
• Familiar with 3D CAD design and PLM software such as Siemens NX, Capital, and Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and NASA harness design standards.
• Hands-on experience with test equipment to verify harness design.
• Understanding space-rated vehicle subsystems and avionics integration.
• Understanding electrical grounding requirements and how to implement proper system grounding.

Responsibilities

• Develop EWIS designs on launch vehicles and spacecraft.
• Generate schematics, wire diagrams, and 3D wiring routing.
• Coordinate interfaces between engineering, production, and integration.
• Support design reviews by presenting design, analysis, and test results.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams for improvements.
• Tailor harnessing standards for internal design guidelines and vehicle level implementation.
