Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, Inc. in Texas seeks a Electrical Engineer for the Interconnect team to develop EWIS for avionics hardware and payloads. You will work in small groups through design, manufacturing, and testing, taking ownership of projects and collaborating across disciplines for flight readiness.

You will apply standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 and NASA-STD-8739.4, create schematics and harness diagrams, and contribute to integration on launch vehicles and spacecraft.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering with 1–3 years of related experience.
• Experience verifying harness designs with test equipment.
• Knowledge of harness design standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620).
• Familiar with NASA-STD-8739.4 and MSFC-SPEC-494.
• Experience selecting connectors, backshells, wires, and harness components.
• Understanding of grounding and system-level grounding.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to generate end-to-end interconnect schematics and drawings.
• Experience with 3D CAD (NX) and 2D drafting; PLM tools (Teamcenter, Capital, NX).

Responsibilities

• Develop EWIS designs for launch vehicles and spacecraft.
• Create schematics, wire diagrams, and harness drawings.
• Coordinate requirements across engineering, production, and integration.
• Support design reviews with technical data for flight readiness.
• Collaborate with teams to drive continuous improvements.
