Job summary

TechSur Solutions, LLC is seeking a Junior Web Software Developer to join our team in the Washington DC metro area. You will help develop, maintain, and deploy enterprise web applications in a Microsoft Azure environment, working under senior developers in an Agile/DevSecOps setting.

You will contribute to development, debugging, testing, and modernization efforts, using Java, Java EE, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs while supporting migrations to Azure and implementing cloud-based

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in web application development.
• Foundational programming knowledge in Java through coursework, projects, internships, or professional experience.
• Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, and basic database concepts.
• Understanding of development, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and work with senior developers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise web applications using Java, Java EE, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate and REST APIs.
• Support migration and modernization of apps from on-premises to Microsoft Azure.
• Assist with designing UI/navigation and application functionality.
• Help implement interfaces between web apps, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Participate in CI/CD deployments using Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Support troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and security remediation.
• Contribute to code reviews, unit/integration testing, and secure SDLC practices.

Job Description

The Junior Web Software Developer will support the development, maintenance, enhancement, and deployment of enterprise web applications in a Microsoft Azure environment. Working under the guidance of senior developers and technical leads, the individual will contribute to application development, troubleshooting, testing, and modernization efforts within an Agile and DevSecOps environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise web applications using Java, Java EE, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate and REST APIs.
• Support the migration and modernization of existing web applications from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.
• Support website design and development activities, including site concepts, user interfaces, navigation, and application functionality.
• Assist with implementing interfaces and integrations between web applications, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Support database development and maintenance activities, including SQL queries, data retrieval, and troubleshooting using relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Assist with migrating and modernizing existing web applications from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining cloud-based applications using Azure services, including Azure App Service and Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
• Develop, test, debug, and document application features, enhancements, and defect fixes under the guidance of senior developers.
• Support application deployments and CI/CD processes using Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes (AKS/OpenShift), as applicable.
• Assist with application troubleshooting, performance monitoring, security vulnerability remediation, routine maintenance, and production support.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and adherence to established coding standards and secure software development practices.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to support application integrations and resolve technical issues.
• Support Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and progress reporting.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including application changes, deployment procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system support materials.
