Job summary

SAIC seeks a Junior-level Java/JEE Developer to join our Ashburn, VA team. The role focuses on designing and implementing microservices using Spring, with cloud-based serverless workloads on AWS Lambda, and on-site collaboration in Ashburn for the first year.

You will work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks like Angular, React, React-Native, and NodeJS, leveraging Spring Boot for backend services. Expect a rigorous lifecycle process and a distributed team environment.

Qualifications

• MUST be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field with 2+ years of technical experience.
• 2+ years of Java J2EE/JEE design and software development experience including designing, developing, and documenting large-scale enterprise software systems.
• 2+ years of working with Applications on Cloud utilizing serverless hosted services like AWS lambda.
• Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, Angular, React, React-Native, NodeJS.
• Development of microservices using Spring. Primarily Spring Boot.
• Experience wiring up code to perform highly efficient CRUD operations on DBMS such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB with JDBC, JPA, Hibernate etc.
• Experience with NoSQL DBs like MongoDB, DocumentDB, DynamoDB etc.
• Developing and debugging complex SQL queries.
• Some experience and familiarity with Unix, Linux systems and commands along with some shell scripting.
• Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
• High level of self-motivation, desire to deliver stellar solutions and willingness to work in a distributed team environment.

SAIC is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior-level Java/JEE Developer to join our team in Ashburn, VA t o begin an exciting and challenging career. This position will be 4 days on-site in Ashburn, VA for the first year of employment.

• First-hand experience working with large project teams (working with the Federal Government a strong plus).
• Experience working on an agile team such as Scrum.
• Experience writing code to interact with AWS services (e.g., S3, SQS, Lambda, Elasticache, MongoDB etc.)
• HTML and CSS.
• Docker, Konvoy, Kubernetes.
• Jenkins, Gitlab, Monitoring Tools.

Customer Requirements

• Clearance - Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation.
• Citizenship - Must be a US Citizen.
• Location - This position will require on-site work in Ashburn, VA 4 days per week for the first year of employment. All candidates must be within the GWA/commutable area.
