Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is seeking an Engineer I to assist with engineering system design on multiple projects.

Under close supervision, you will perform design calculations, prepare cost estimates, permits, and deliverable drawings, and help interpret reports. You will support engineers and designers by writing specifications, researching design options, collecting data, and performing basic analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or FE certification is preferred.
• Strong grasp of core engineering principles relevant to discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and detailing of engineering systems and prepare specifications.
• Apply standard procedures to perform tasks and research design options.
• Collect data, perform basic analyses, and prepare drawings or visual aids.
• Participate in meetings to ensure code compliance and site observations.
• Interface with staff, officials, and contractors on assigned tasks.
