The Division of Administration, Office of Technology Services (OTS) is hiring a Jr. UI/UX Designer to support Product Delivery within the Engineering section.

This onsite role in Baton Rouge, LA focuses on design, usability, and user experience for both new and existing applications, using OTS standards and processes. In this vacancy, you will help shape user-centered interfaces and workflows while participating in planning, design feedback, usability efforts, and project activities that support

Qualifications

• Two years of IT experience, or six years of full-time work experience in any field.
• An associate’s degree in information technology.
• A bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform design, usability, and user experience functions for the section.
• Create and edit wireframes and mockups in alignment with standards and procedures.
• Join project planning meetings, user interviews, and usability studies to understand user needs.
• Participate in design and usability reviews for systems in development and production.
• Contribute to design reviews and critiques to support user requirements and maintain standards.
• Assist with troubleshooting user flow issues across projects.
• Participate in usability testing and user acceptance testing.
• Attend project meetings such as daily standups and planning sessions, and update leadership on progress.
• Assist in preparing presentations and refining project documents to meet design standards.
• Support the successful delivery of IT projects statewide.
• Assist with developing the section’s document library and standards.
• Research and stay current on OTS and industry standards related to design and accessibility.
• Perform additional tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans.
