Job summary

AV is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join its UAV design team in the United States. You will work on the full design cycle from concept to testing, building and validating systems and subsystems for next-generation autonomous platforms.

You will design mechanical components, perform thermal analysis, and develop tooling and fixtures. Prototyping with 3D printing and CAD/CAE work will be routine to meet fast-paced, high-precision requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years of experience designing complex mechanical systems with hardware transition.
• Experience in designing machined parts, composites, injection molded parts, sheet metal, wire assemblies, and mechanical assemblies.
• Hands-on building/prototyping for lightweight robotic systems or similar.
• Experience designing electro-mechanical systems with thermodynamic constraints.
• Competence with mechanical design/analysis tools and ASME Y14 standards.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design structural, electro-mechanical, payload, ground equipment, launching systems, and thermal management components.
• Create manufacturing drawings and bills of materials; support design reviews.
• Assist project managers with planning/scheduling; support manufacturing and suppliers.
