Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer-in-Training to join the Transportation Practice in Houston/Mission.

This role will assist in developing construction plans, performing surveys, coordinating work across disciplines, and preparing design drawings under supervision. Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of experience, a ABET-accredited engineering degree, and knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD and Revit, plus Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program.
• General knowledge of design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and technical writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of multiple construction plans for transportation projects. These duties will be performed under the supervision of a senior project engineer or project manager.
• Perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment. Assignments usually include engineering calculations, interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications, and assistance with proposal preparation.
• Design and preparation of construction drawings for various transportation projects.
• Help to coordinate work of multiple engineering disciplines, as well as performing drafting/CADD work for the project.
• Develops engineering reports, quantities and Construction Cost Estimates
