Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Practice in Houston. The role supports development of construction plans, prepares drawings, and coordinates with multiple engineering disciplines under supervision of a senior project engineer or project manager.

Ideal candidates have 0-2 years of experience, a ABET-accredited engineering degree, and familiarity with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD and Revit. EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in transportation engineering or internship experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited program.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with road design standards (AASHTO, MUTCD, NACTO).
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing construction plans for transportation projects under supervision.
• Perform engineering calculations, interpretation of drawings and specifications.
• Design and prepare construction drawings for transportation projects.
• Coordinate work across engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD tasks.
• Develop engineering reports, quantities and construction cost estimates.
