Job summary

KCI in Pittsburgh is seeking an Engineer-in-Training to assist in the development of transportation construction plans. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD. Responsibilities include coordinating multiple engineering disciplines and developing engineering reports and cost estimates. Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCI is hiring an Engineer‑in‑Training to join our Pittsburgh, PA office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of multiple construction plans for transportation projects under the supervision of a senior project engineer or project manager.
• Perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment, including engineering calculations, interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications, and assistance with proposal preparation.
• Help coordinate the work of multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work for the project.
• Develop engineering reports, quantities, and construction cost estimates.

Preferred Qualifications

• General knowledge and/or experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Good communication and technical writing skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards.
• EIT certification preferred.

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

• 0‑2 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑Accredited Program.
• General knowledge of required design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
