Job summary

Dewberry in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Group. The successful candidate will participate in design of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage, erosion control, and traffic management plans on a variety of projects, collaborating with a team of professionals.

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with transportation emphasis is required; proficiency in MicroStation is required, with Geopak/OpenRoads and MDOT/VDOT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in Transportation) required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency using MicroStation required; Geopak and OpenRoads experience preferred.
• Experience working on MDOT SHA, MdTA, and/or VDOT plans in design-bid-build or design-build delivery preferred.
• Working knowledge of MDOT SHA, MdTA, and/or VDOT standards preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Desire to work in a team environment.
• FE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team in transportation engineering including design of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage systems, erosion and sediment control, development of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, and preparation of construction and right-of-way acquisition plans for a variety of project types and clients.
