Job summary

Ardurra in Tallahassee, FL is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation team, working with experienced engineers on FDOT and other transportation projects. This role offers exposure to highway design, urban arterials, intersections, interchanges, and multimodal improvements across Florida, with hands-on experience through planning, design, and construction phases.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, 0–1 year of engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 0–1 years of experience in engineering or related fields; internship preferred.
• Interest in highway, roadway, and transportation engineering and design.
• Familiarity with transportation design software preferred.
• EIT certification preferred (or ability to obtain within one year).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and design of highway, roadway, intersection, interchange, and other transportation projects.
• Support roadway geometry, alignments, profiles, cross sections, and typical sections.
• Assist with preparation of road plans, construction documents, specs, and reports.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses for transportation design.
• Support preparation of plans, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Support drainage, utilities, signing, pavement markings, and MOT tasks.
• Conduct field investigations and site visits.
• Coordinate with FDOT, municipalities, utilities, and agencies.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams through development and construction phases.
• Assist with construction-phase services and responses to contractor questions.
