Job summary

Walleye Capital's Minnesota-based market making team is seeking a Junior Trader to join a group of experienced traders, developers, and researchers. You will learn and operate our proprietary market making software and risk management systems, monitor equities and options, and identify trading opportunities.

Over time you will take increasing ownership of trading decisions, manage a book of equities, and collaborate with senior traders to refine strategies and improve execution.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of trading experience in options market making or a closely related trading role.
• Strong understanding of equity options, volatility, pricing, and market making concepts.
• Experience using market making software, trading platforms, and risk management systems.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple positions and priorities.
• Ability to process market information quickly and make decisions under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

Responsibilities

• Learn and operate the team's market making software, trading tools, and risk management systems.
• Monitor equities and equity options throughout the trading day and identify potential trading opportunities.
• Research individual equities, options, volatility, and relevant market developments.
• Maintain accurate theoretical values, pricing assumptions, and risk parameters across assigned symbols.
• Monitor positions and exposures and make adjustments within the risk framework.
• Analyze market trends, volatility, liquidity, and factors impacting strategies.
• Manage a book of equities and options under guidance of senior traders, aiming for independent responsibility.
• Collaborate with senior traders, developers and researchers to improve strategies, tools and performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve pricing, execution, risk management, and processes.
• Maintain accurate trading records and contribute to performance and risk reporting.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and responsiveness.
