Job summary

Aluminum Precision Products in Santa Ana, CA, is seeking a Tool Designer to oversee tooling design and production support across the forging facility. You will contribute to product development from concept through production.

The role requires designing tools, developing 3D forging models and 2D drawings for quotations, and validating designs with FEA software. You may work with Quality, Process, and Manufacturing Engineering to meet customer due dates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2+ years relevant work experience.
• Fundamentals of GD&T.
• Design experience in 3D solid modeling.
• English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehension).
• Ability to apply critical thought to develop and implement strategies addressing objectives.
• Ability to interact effectively with executives, managers, and staff.
• Highly organized and plans effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Data-driven approach to difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Design tools and support product development.
• Develop 3D forging models and 2D drawings for quotation.
• Validate designs using FEA simulation software.
• Collaborate with Quality, Process, and Manufacturing Engineering as needed.
• Support customer due dates and production schedules.
• Interact on the shop floor to solve problems and optimize processes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by department manager.
