Aluminum Precision Products in Santa Ana, CA seeks a Tool Designer to lead tooling design and production support across the forging facility. You will develop 3D forgings, create 2D drawings for quotations, and validate designs with FEA tools.

Expect cross-functional collaboration on quality, process, and manufacturing engineering while meeting customer due dates. The role emphasizes strong analytical thinking, organization, and clear communication in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Material Science or 5+ years relevant work experience.
• Understanding of GD&T fundamentals.
• Experience with 3D solid modeling.
• Ability to apply data-driven solutions to problems.
• Able to interact with executives, managers and staff.
• Highly organized and able to plan effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Design tools and support product development.
• Develop 3D forging models and 2D drawings for quotation.
• Validate designs using FEA simulation software.
• Collaborate with Quality, Process, and Manufacturing Engineering as needed.
• Support customer due dates and shop-floor problem solving.
• Assist in optimizing processes and procedures per direction.
