Profile

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Junior- to Mid-Level Intellectual Property Litigation (Patent) Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have experience in patent litigation before U.S. district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), or the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field, with an advanced degree or industry experience considered a plus. Membership in the Patent Bar is preferred.

Duties:

  1. Represent clients in patent litigation matters before U.S. district courts, the ITC, and the PTAB.
  2. Develop and execute litigation strategies, including preparing case briefs, legal research, and motion practice.
  3. Draft and review legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  4. Manage discovery processes, including document review, depositions, and preparation for evidentiary hearings.
  5. Participate in trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings, presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
  6. Collaborate with clients, technical experts, and senior attorneys to build and support patent litigation cases.
  7. Analyze complex technical information and apply it to legal strategies and arguments.
  8. Stay informed on developments in patent law, litigation trends, and technological advancements.
  9. Maintain thorough and organized case files and documentation, ensuring compliance with legal procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience litigating patent cases before U.S. district courts, the ITC, or the PTAB.
  • Preferred educational background includes an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or industry experience in relevant technical fields is a plus.
  • Membership in the Patent Bar is preferred.
