Job summary

Particle Measuring Systems in Niwot, CO is seeking an entry-level Associate Test Engineer to join the Engineering - Labs team. You will execute test plans, operate lab equipment, and assist senior engineers in developing and sustaining PMS air and liquid particle counting systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience or recent graduate.
• Basic understanding of optics, electro‑optics, or laser systems preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory test and measurement equipment.
• Excellent technical problem‑solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work on a cross‑functional team and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute test plans and procedures for new product development under senior engineer guidance.
• Perform functional, environmental, calibration, and reliability testing on prototypes and production units.
• Operate laboratory and electro‑optical equipment to collect and record test data.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and optical subsystems.
• Document test results and data analysis in technical reports.
• Support root‑cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain test equipment, fixtures, and calibration records.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional teams on R&D projects.
