Job summary

CannonDesign is hiring an entry-level telecommunications design engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team in Buffalo, NY or Chicago, IL. You will work under a project leader and licensed engineer on construction documents and basic specifications for building telecom systems.

You will learn to analyze engineering drawings, develop knowledge of codes, and contribute to quality improvements through coordinated design work. ABET-accredited education and internship experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering; ABET-accredited program preferred.
• EIT/FE certification preferred.
• Related student internship experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to handle multiple projects effectively.
• Experience with engineering design software (Revit/Navisworks) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in preparation of construction documents and basic specifications of telecommunications systems for building construction.
• Under supervision, may design telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients per applicable codes.
• Develop ability to analyze engineering documents and layout systems with oversight.
• Learn applicable codes for telecommunications design under supervision.
• Suggest improvements using reference standards to improve quality and coordination.
