Job description

We are looking for a hands‑on and customer‑focused Junior Technical Analyst to support day‑to‑day IT operations and provide technical assistance to end users in a professional work environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting workstation and desktop issues, configuring computer equipment, supporting business applications, and helping users resolve technical problems that affect their daily work. You will work with Windows‑based systems, standard workplace applications, hardware peripherals, and basic network connectivity while following established IT procedures.

The ideal candidate is technically curious, organized, and comfortable working directly with users to identify problems, test solutions, and document outcomes. This opportunity is well suited for an early‑career IT professional who has a solid foundation in computer systems and wants to develop practical experience in desktop support and IT operations.

Key Responsibilities
Workstation and Desktop Support
  • Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, and other workstation peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot Windows operating system issues, slow system performance, application errors, login problems, and hardware malfunctions.
  • Install and configure approved software, drivers, updates, and workplace applications in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with workstation imaging, device replacements, equipment upgrades, and the preparation of computers for new employees.
  • Perform basic diagnostics to identify whether an issue is related to hardware, software, user configuration, or network connectivity.
Technical Troubleshooting and User Support
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for routine technical incidents and service requests.
  • Investigate and resolve common issues involving computer access, passwords, printers, email, applications, and connectivity.
  • Provide clear, practical instructions to users and explain troubleshooting steps in a professional manner.
  • Track issues through resolution, keep users informed of progress, and elevate more complex incidents to senior technical staff when required.
  • Recognize recurring problems and communicate findings to the appropriate IT team members.
Microsoft and Account Support
  • Provide basic support for Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, and other standard productivity tools.
  • Assist with user onboarding and offboarding activities, including workstation preparation, account setup requests, and equipment collection.
  • Support routine password resets, account access requests, and permission‑related issues in accordance with company policies and authorization procedures.
  • Assist with basic Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID tasks, where applicable.
  • Help users resolve common email, file access, application configuration, and authentication issues.
Connectivity and IT Operations
  • Troubleshoot basic wired and wireless network connectivity, internet access, VPN connectivity, and shared printer issues.
  • Assist with identifying potential network‑related problems and elevate infrastructure issues when they require additional technical expertise.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, workstation assignments, hardware changes, and asset inventory.
  • Support routine system maintenance, software updates, and endpoint configuration activities.
  • Follow IT security practices when handling company devices, user accounts, credentials, and business information.
Documentation and Team Collaboration
  • Record incidents, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and follow‑up actions in the designated ticketing or tracking system.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and follow established support procedures.
  • Prioritize support requests based on urgency, business impact, and guidance from the IT team.
  • Collaborate with other technical staff to resolve outstanding issues and maintain reliable workplace technology.
  • Participate in technical training, knowledge‑sharing, and process improvement activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma, degree, or relevant training in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Systems, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • Approximately 1–2 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, help desk, workstation support, or a related technical role.
  • Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems and common computer hardware components.
  • Practical understanding of software installation, workstation configuration, and basic troubleshooting methods.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and common end‑user computing issues.
  • Basic understanding of computer networking, including IP addressing, Wi‑Fi, internet connectivity, and printers.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues methodically.
  • Clear communication and customer service skills when working with users who have varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to document work accurately.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, follow established procedures, and seek guidance when necessary.
  • Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Houston, Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous hands‑on experience setting up or troubleshooting Windows desktops and laptops.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, or basic user account administration.
  • Exposure to IT ticketing systems, service desk workflows, or remote support tools.
  • Experience with workstation deployment, device imaging, hardware inventory, or IT asset management.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.
