Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Junior Systems/ S&T Engineer in Stafford, VA, to support DoD/MCS acquisition analysis, planning, and technology insertion within the TCE contract. You will translate operational needs into tech solutions, support trade studies, and help craft systems engineering plans and roadmaps.

Qualifications include a BS/BA in engineering or related field and 2–4 years experience, with strong MS Office skills and communication ability. DoD/military environment experience is highly desired.

• BS/BA degree in engineering, science, technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 2–4 years of professional experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

Responsibilities

• Support the capture, analysis, and translation of operational and customer requirements into potential technical solutions, S&T initiatives, and technology insertion opportunities.
• Support technical trade studies and engineering assessments to evaluate alternative technologies, integration approaches, technical maturity, risks, benefits, and applicability to existing or future TCE capabilities.
• Support developing, reviewing, updating, and delivering Systems Engineering Plans and program-specific annexes.
• Apply processes and tools to design and develop strategic operation plans and S&T roadmaps and related analyses.
• Support system architecture analyses and integration planning to assess feasibility and interoperability within TCE systems.
• Deliver high-level capability summaries and identify risks and shortfalls for technology insertions.
• Assist with development and updates to strategic documents.
• Provide analytical support across disciplines as needed.
