Job summary

Cayuse Holdings seeks a Junior Systems Administrator to manage and secure computer systems in a classified environment. You will monitor OSs, diagnose issues, and support IT projects, aligning with Cayuse values of Innovation, Excellence, Collaboration, Adaptability, and Integrity.

Responsibilities include system monitoring, preventive maintenance, software testing, documentation, and vendor coordination for hardware/software repairs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience (less than 2 years).
• Foundational knowledge of system administration, basic troubleshooting, and familiarity with Windows, Linux, or Solaris.
• Possessing or obtaining IA certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA A+, CISSP.
• Top-Secret Clearance is required.
• Must pass a background check; additional checks may occur.

Responsibilities

• System monitoring and maintenance of Windows, UNIX-based systems (Linux/Solaris).
• Regular preventive maintenance to improve reliability and uptime.
• Analyze system faults and perform root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate and install software at testing stages and ensure compatibility.
• Document system tests and installations for accuracy.
• Investigate and recommend methods for problem resolution and improvements.
• Administer and support systems across multiple projects with minimal disruption.
• Coordinate with vendors for escalations, repairs under warranty/SLAs.
• Prepare and update design docs, user guides, and test docs as needed.
