About the role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and hands‑on Systems Administrator to serve as a vital link between our users and our infrastructure. You'll be the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day user support, covering everything from setting up new laptops to resolving application issues, and then escalating into deeper troubleshooting, server administration, and infrastructure projects. You’ll support our entire Windows/Office 365 environment, build and maintain servers, manage backups, ensure all endpoints are secure and running smoothly.

What you’ll do
End-User Support & Help Desk Operations
  • Provide Tier 1/2 help desk support for local and remote users via ticketing system, phone, and chat.
  • Set up, configure, and deploy new hire workstations (laptops/desktops) including hardware, necessary peripherals, and initial application installations.
  • Perform application troubleshooting and installation for a wide range of standard business software.
  • Troubleshoot root causes for complex issues across Windows, Office 365, networking basics, and hardware.
  • Document fixes, create knowledge base articles, and improve support processes.
Microsoft 365 & Identity
  • Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, One, SharePoint) including licensing, mailbox management, and security settings.
  • Manage users, groups, and policies in Windows Active Directory and Azure AD (Entra ID); handle join/leave processes and permission changes.
  • Build, configure, and maintain Windows Server instances (physical and virtual).
  • Deploy and manage VMs using VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V; perform snapshots, migrations, and resource monitoring.
  • Apply patches and updates, monitor performance, and remediate alerts.
  • Maintain the “gold image” and driver libraries for company endpoints.
  • Enforce configuration baselines, hardening standards, and update compliance across all devices.
Backup & Recovery
  • Monitor and execute backup jobs; test restores and maintain recovery documentation.
  • Assist with disaster recovery runbooks and periodic DR tests.
Security & Compliance
  • Implement and monitor security baselines, MFA, conditional access, and least‑privilege.
  • Respond to alerts, remediate vulnerabilities, and keep audit‑ready documentation.
What you’ll bring
Required
  • 4–6 years of hands‑on experience in an IT Support, Desktop Support, or Systems Admin role.
  • Proven ability to set up and troubleshoot end‑user hardware and software for both local and remote users.
  • Hands‑on experience with Windows Server (DNS/DHCP/Group Policy), Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 admin.
  • Experience with VMware and/or Hyper‑V for provisioning and maintaining VMs.
  • Endpoint imaging/deployment (Autopilot/MDT/SCCM or similar) and Windows desktop support.
  • Backup concepts (full/incremental, retention, restore testing) and familiarity with a common backup platform.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
Nice to have
  • Azure AD (Entra ID), Intune/Endpoint Manager, PowerShell scripting.
  • Basic networking (VLANs, VPN, firewalls, Wi‑Fi).
  • Exposure to monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, MCSA/MD‑100/MD‑101, AZ‑900, VMware VCTA.
Success looks like
  • High CSAT scores for help desk interactions and timely resolution of support tickets.

  • New employee hardware/software setups are seamless and on time.
  • Verified, restorable backups and documented DR procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field.

• Minimum 5 years' experience.

• Onsite position based in Pasadena, California (remote candidates will not be considered).

• Standard hours: Mon–Fri, 8:30 am – 5 pm.
